BMW set a sales record in 2014, marking the fourth consecutive year that it has done so. The German motorcycle-maker sold 123,495 units, up from 115,215 in 2013. That was a 7.2 percent increase.
While Germany continued to be BMW’s strongest market with 21,714 bikes sold, the U.S. came in second with sales of 15,301 units, an increase of 1,201 bikes from 2013.
BMW most popular model was the R 1200 GS with sales of 24,380. The R 1200 GS Adventure was second with 16,242, followed by the R 1200 RT with 12,140.
Coming in fourth place in its first year of production was the R Nine T roadster (pictured above) with 8,488. It was one of four new models in 2014, and more new models are coming this year.
