Rice-O-Rama Getting New Home

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

Rice-O-Rama has become a victim of its success. Consequently, the annual all-Japanese meet will leave cramped quarters at the North Brookfield Sportsmen’s Club in North Brookfield, Mass. and move to a new location in September – the Singletary Rod and Gun in Oxford, MA.

This year’s show will held Sunday, Sept. 9. Vendors will be allowed on the ground beginning at noon Saturday to set up. The old location was certainly welcoming, but the hilly terrain made parking problematic and the event simply outgrew the grounds.

DANBURY H.O.G. CHILI COOK-OFF

Ready your spoons and taste buds. The Danbury H.O.G. chapter will hold its “1st annual” chili cook-off on Sunday at Harley-Davidson of Danbury from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. While the event’s free, those who sample the chili are asked to donate, with the money going to charities supported by the H.O.G. chapter. The competition is limited to 12 participants with the prize being bragging rights as “Danbury H.O.G. Chili Champion.”
