Split’n Lanes Invitational Show Plans Return to Brooklyn Bowl

BROOKLYN, NY – Interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and not staged since, the popular Split’n Lanes Dodgin’ Gutters classic motorcycle show is getting revived at the Brooklyn Bowl bowling alley in 2026.

The invitational event, which has drawn show bikes and spectators from Connecticut, will be staged from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Organizer Girard Fox is promising on “bringing some of the most fascinating, historical and innovative machines from around the country to New York City!”

In an email, Fox said the “Still Split’n Lanes” gathering “will be tightly curated this year, featuring some historically fascinating motorcycles, some with racing pedigree, custom-built machines that defy the banality of the everyday as well as many models that simply aren’t seen widely in America.”

In addition to the indoor show, where all entries are by invitation, there will also be a secondary show outside the Brooklyn Bowl. The block in front will be closed off for the display of bikes by those who have ridden to the show, many of them old or unusual as well.

Other details on Still Split’n Lanes, including ticket prices and when they will go on sale, have not yet been released.

The Split’n Lanes Dodgin’ Gutters was staged for five years through 2019. After being canceled in 2020 due to COVID, an attempt was made to revive it in 2021 in a new location in New Jersey but that never panned out.

The revival of the show can be attributed to the continued interest of motorcyclists in the region. It was a unique and colorful event that was worth the effort to attend from those coming from out of town and out of state.

Fox wrote in his email, “We have taken to heart all of the constant enquiries from friends and fans of the show as we attend motorcycle meets and races in our frequent travels. The question comes up constantly, and remains fairly consistent:  ‘When are you going to do another ‘Split’n Lanes’ show?!’ ‘We miss that event and always had so much fun!’ Well, we finally have an answer.”
