Star Unveils Mid-Sized Bagger, Kawasaki Has Ninja 300

Baggers are big, right? Both in terms of popularity and size. Just look at the heavyweights with hard bags and front fairings from Harley-Davidson and Victory. Yamaha’s Star motorcycle line is betting that there’s room for a mid-sized full dresser. It has just unveiled the all-new 2013 V Star 1300 Deluxe.

With an MSRP of $13,690, the belt-driven V Star 1300 Deluxe offers “high-end appearance and features,” including a full-integrated dash and audio system and GPS, lockable hard bags and an 80 cubic inch (1304cc) V-twin engine. Seat height is 27.2 inches. The gas tank holds 4.9 gallons. It’s available in one color – deep blue.

Kawasaki, meanwhile, used a “Times Square Takeover” today to unveil a new entry-level sport bike, the Ninja 300, which replaces the Ninja 250. It uses a 296cc parallel twin and has an MSRP of $4,799. There’s also an ABS version for $5,299. The new Ninja has fresh bodywork, 10-spoke wheels and a digital display.
