The Year in Pictures: June-July

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

June means the annual Rhinebeck Grand National Super Meet at the Duchess County Fairgrounds in New York. Persistent raindrops intruded this year but didn’t dampen the fun of seeing hundreds of vintage machines. There were gorgeous Harleys…

And some rarities, too, including an old Emblem capable of carrying two adults and two children. Emblems were built in Angola, NY between 1909 and 1925…

There was also a Hercules with a rotary engine…

The Rhinebeck meet is always the best place to get a glimpse of motorcycling’s past…

In July, the highlight had to be getting a tutorial on the Honda CBX from Tom Bordonaro of Winsted. He owns a 1981 model (below) of the six-cylinder, 1047cc machine that was built between 1979 and 1982.
