BOXBOROUGH, MA – An online shopper who used a stolen credit card to buy more than $700 in parts and accessories from Ural of New England has the dealership searching for the scammer.
In a Facebook post at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday, Ural of New England business manager Olga Bykhovsky described the shifty shopper as “some very creative young man from New Hampshire.”
She further explained, “The card belonged to a fellow in Australia, who obviously cancelled the charge since the purchase was unauthorized.”
Ural of New England is out the $700+ because, she said, “in cases of Internet fraud, it’s the merchant who absorbs the expense.”
Bykhovsky added that said that she expects to be able to “deduce which bike he has and where he lives,” and later followed with an additional post that revealed, “We sold the bike to a NH customer who in turn sold it to him.”
In an email this afternoon, Bykhovsky said the Ural of New England is “working with an investigator” and with its credit card provider to track down the guy who ran up the charges.
