MEDINA, MN – Did anyone see this one coming? Victory announced this morning plans to race prototype electric race motorcycles in the International Isle of Man TT next month. The bikes will use Parker motors and be piloted by William Dunlop and Lee “General Lee” Johnston.
This will mark the first time that Victory Racing has entered a pro racing event in Europe and raced an electric motorcycle.
“The entire Victory team is excited to make history with this effort,” said Rod Krois, Victory General Manager. “We know that William Dunlop’s experience and the continued Victory Motorcycles development of this electric race bike through work with Parker will propel us into a strong future with electric motorcycles.”
The class event for electric racers is set for June 10 around the 37.73-mile Mountain Course on the island in the Irish Sea.
