Is it me, or is Victory the Rodney Dangerfield of motorcycles; a brand that doesn’t get the respect it deserves considering the fit, finish and reliability of the bikes it build? Is it merely matter of Harley-Davidson owners being so loyal that Victory hasn’t made more inroads over the past 15 years? And what’s to become of Victory now that its owner, Polaris, is devoting so much effort to the other bike brand that it owns, Indian?
Victory today released its 2014 model lineup and there was nothing new or radically different, unless you count 8-Ball versions of its Cross Roads (pictured above) and Cross Country (pictured below) models. In Victory parlance, an 8-Ball is a blacked out version of an existing model that is sold at a lower price. The 2014 Cross Roads 8-Ball has an MSRP of $15,999, while the 2014 Cross Country 8-Ball will run $17,999. Both of these new baggers are powered by a Freedom 106/6 V-Twin.
There’s also a second version of Victory High-Ball on the way, with both 2014 models featuring a round headlight. While the black and white High-Ball will have cast wheels and a lower MSRP of $13,499 (down from $14,499), the new black and flames version (pictured below) will have spoke rims.
