Video Series Recounts History of H-D Apparel

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

In an effort to tout its riding apparel, Harley-Davidson has created a series of three videos titled “Made of a lot More Than Just Leather,” the first of which is posted below. When Harley tipped me to the videos yesterday afternoon, I chuckled upon seeing the title because it reminded me of a Harley-Davidson branded belt that I bought at a dealer several years ago. Suffice to say, it was crap and “made of a lot more than leather.” It split apart within a few months and revealed a core that wasn’t leather at all, rather a plastic mesh. The belt was laminated junk, and high-priced junk at that. You can bet the dealer heard about it. I did save the buckle, though, and found a leathersmith make me a real leather belt using the buckle, and I’m wearing it now.

Getting back to the video, Chapter One – the second and third videos will be up quickly – notes the history of Harley apparel and reveals just how masterful the company is in tying together all components of what is the Harley experience. Enjoy:
