CRARYVILLE, NY – The Weaver family’s long-running Bultaco operation, which includes the sales, service and restoration of vintage Bultaco motorcycles, has a new logo and a new web domain today following the surrender of the U.S. trademark of the Bultaco Cemoto name to the revived motorcycle manufacturer in Spain.
Bultaco, which went out of business in 1983 after 25 years, was revived last year as a builder of electric motorcycles and is now taking orders. The original company was founded in 1958 by Francisco “Paco” Bulto with the brand’s name coming from the first four letters of Bulto’s surname and the last three letters of his nickname.
In announcing the adoption of the Bultaco Classic moniker, the Weavers explained in an online post, “The Bulto family has embarked on a new endeavor of Bultaco. They came to us to purchase back the trademark rights and the web address bultaco.com.”
While still pointed to Weaver’s operation this afternoon, bultaco.com will be obsolete “in the very near future.” The new web address for the Weaver’s business is bultacoclassic.com.
