Yamaha Sues MOMS Chain for $2.8 Million, Kaplan Grows Lineup

The finance arm of motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha is suing the Motorcycles of Manchester dealership chain for nearly $2.8 million citing breach of an inventory financing agreement. MOMS has stores in four New England states, including a multi-line dealership in Enfield, CT which sells Yamaha, Royal Enfield, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph and Can-Am models.

WMUR-TV in Manchester, NH reported Friday that Yamaha Motor Finance Corporation and MOMS entered into a vehicle financing agreement in 2024, but that MOMS has breached the agreement due to a “failure to pay timely pay for sold inventory, past-due parts payments, and past-due interest.”

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Maine District Court. MOMS’ website shows that the chain has three stores in New Hampshire, three in Massachusetts, one in Maine and one in Connecticut. The Enfield store is a result of the company’s purchases of Mark’s Motorsports and Enfield Motor Sports.

Kaplan Cycles Expands

Following the mid-summer addition of Ducati motorcycles to its offerings, Kaplan Cycles in Rockville, CT has now added two more Italian brands – Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. The dealership also sells GASGAS and Buell models.
