EBR Back In Business With New Owner

American sport-bike builder EBR (for Erik Buell Racing) is apparently back in business after New Jersey-based Atlantic Metals Group LLC bought the company’s manufacturing operations at auction on Thursday. EBR shut down in April and filed for receivership listing outstanding liabilities of more than $20 million.

Bruce Belfer, CEO of Atlantic Metal Group, will serve as CEO of EBR with Erik Buell retained as president. In an interview with the “Milwaukee Business Journal,” Belfer said his immediate task is to “turn the key and get the business back up and running.”

Belfer offered $2.25 million for EBR’s machinery, inventory and other segments of the manufacturing operations. EBR is based in East Troy, WI.
