Does your old Harley-Davidson have the hiccups? Or maybe it simply lacks the get-up-and-go that it once had. In case you weren’t aware of it, Harley has an engine re-manufacturing program which restores old motors to their original factory specs. Recently added to the program were the Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and (2003-2006) CVO Twin Cam 103 engines.
What’s required is that a Harley dealer remove the engine and ship it back to the factory and then reinstall it upon its return. Engines are usually returned within two weeks – new on the inside and out. The VIN stays the same.
The cost isn’t cheap. Prices range from $2,495 for a 1984-and-later 1340 Evolution engine to as much as $3,995 for a Twin Cam 103.
Rebuilt motors comes with a 12-month limited warranty.
Let me see if I can find an answer for you…
I have heard that the Harley reman program has been dropped. Is that just for the evo engines or is it for the twin cams also
