A stunt rider from Ohio who went down last week while showing off on a Connecticut roadway is getting ridiculed on Facebook as an “asshat,” a “dumb ass” and a “jackass” – and, after watching the video, it’s easy to see why.
Jeff “C-Bear” Flaherty, whose Facebook page says that he lives in Wadsworth, OH, was recorded riding shirtless and doing a wheelie down what appears to be an access road to I-95 in East Haven when he loses control.
Flaherty falls off the back of his motorcycle, which goes tumbling down the roadway. Flaherty gets up screaming obscenities and appears to be unhurt.
Longtime rider Jay Flynn of Torrington shared the video on his Facebook page on Saturday and observed, “Case in point. Dress for the slide, not the ride… Either way this guy is a dope.”
Flynn’s friends soon piled on, posting derisive comments aimed at Flaherty.
RIDE-CT & RIDE-NewEngland can’t argue with their logic. Immature showoffs like Flaherty, who has 92.9k followers on Instagram, help give all riders a bad name, making drivers want to run us down rather than avoid us. Reckless riding on public roads also endangers all who use them.
Here’s the video of Flaherty’s crash plus a second one showing him being equally idiotic in Derby, CT.
Stunting can be cool – but in a safe environment. This guy needs to be stripped of his driver’s license.
Maybe someone should send him a link to your Safe Riding column ?
