Doc’s Motorcycle Parts in Waterbury, CT is planning its first-ever vintage motorcycle show and swap meet on July 19 with all brands being welcome.
Mike “Mike Doc” D’Occhio reasons that there are no classic shows in the state west of the Connecticut River and wants to remedy the situation. His store’s customer appreciation days (shown above) always draw a crowd, so his figures a show featuring pre-1990 bikes will do likewise.
“My goal is to get out as many older bikes as I can,” said D’Occhio, emphasizing that he’s seeking the many Japanese and European brands that so many riders rode in their youth. And he’s not looking for “show bikes,” either, rather bikes that simply recall the past. Hours of the show are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be music, food and vendors.
Trophies will be awarded. Pre-registration is free but there will be a $10 day-of-show fee for entries. Owners may register at Doc’s, 1625 Thomaston Ave. or by calling 203-757-0295.
