Harley-Davidson is recalling more than 8,000 of its Dyna Low Rider models manufactured during the 2014-2016 model years to replace ignition switches that may fail.
“In the affected motorcycles, engine vibrations may damage the ignition switch internally and, as a result, the engine may shut off while riding,” according to recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Adinitsration.
The federal agency says, “If the engine shuts off, the motorcycle would stall, increasing the risk of a crash.”
The recall begins this month. Harley-Davidson is notifying owners of the 8,060 affected motorcycles and will install an improved ignition witch free of charge.
