Packaging in grocery store items may be getting smaller, but motorcycle manufacturers keep upsizing models. Size apparently does matter as Husqvarna yesterday debuted the “scrambler-inspired” Svartpilen 801 street model. It presumably replaces the Svartpilen 701.
Available beginning in April, the Svartpilen 801 is powered by a 799cc parallel-twin engine that makes its the largest displacement naked model made by Husqvarna. Peak power is 105 horsepower. It offers Street, Rain and Sport riding modes. There’s an optional Dynamic Mode that limits wheelies, has adjustable engine braking and includes cruise control.
Most noticeable about the Svartpilen 801 is that the styling is marginally more conventional than past Husky models. Seat height is 32.2 inches. Fuel capacity is 3.7 gallons, and it weighs in at 399 pounds dry. It has a six-speed transmission.
The base price of Svartpilen is $10,899. For more details, visit here.
