The Senate Transportation Committee in New Jersey approved on Tuesday legislation that would prohibit motorcycle-only checkpoints. “Stopping a driver strictly because of the type of vehicle they are operating is unfair to motorists, plain and simple,” said Sen. Jeff Van Drew, who is co-sponsoring the bill. “The Herald” has the story here.

The Connecticut state trooper accused of stealing $3,700 from the body of a motorcyclist from Orange who died in an accident while exiting the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield on Sept. 22 has entered a plea. Aaron “AJ” Huntsman pleaded no guilty on Monday to two counts of third-degree larceny and one count each of interfering with police and tampering with evidence.
