People are stupid…
Who said rider training isn’t helpful or that helmets can’t help save lives? Must have been the 57-year-old man in North Fort Meyers, FL who died Wednesday while taking a test ride on a the bike that he’d just purchased and had delivered to his home by the dealership.
Dana St. John did not have a motorcycle endorsement, and apparently no formal training, when rode he 2007 Yamaha down the driveway, turned around and ran straight into his house. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and suffered serious head trauma. The “News-Press” has more here. Was this a needless death or what?

Three North Carolina men were arrested last week and charged with stealing motorcycles from a body shop. Early Tuesday morning, Haw River police pulled over a vehicle that was towing a trailer carrying several unsecured motorcycles. The trailer lacked lights or a license plate. What makes the story interesting is that one of the stolen bikes was owned by one of the cops who responded to the scene.

On the subject of cops, there’s a doughnut-eater and two squids in a neat chase and drift video done by the Icon gear folks and now posted on YouTube.
Yes, it’s a more than eight-minute advertisement but the riding’s cool and the premise is humorous, sort of a modern-day “Dukes of Hazzard” with the General Lee replaced by sport bikes.
