Catching up after taking a few days off…
Stamford-based publisher and motorcycle enthusiast/collector Buzz Kanter, the guy behind such magazines as “American Iron,” “RoadBike” and “Motorcycle Bagger,” will be among 2012 inductees into the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame, it was announced Monday.

An induction breakfast will be held on Aug. 8 at The Lodge at Deadwood in Deadwood, SD. Congrats, Buzz!

Out in AZ, state police arrested a freeway rider who was clocked Sunday night going 150 miles-per-hour in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale. Abraham Torres, a 27-year-old former Marine, told the arresting officer that he was just back from Iraq and didn’t know how fast he was going. Imagine what might have happened if there had been a javelina in the roadway.

Kawasaki is recalling 20,544 late- and current-model bikes due to a bad regulator/rectifier that may charge the battery insufficiently. Models affected include 2008-2011 Ninja ZX-1oR and 2009-2012 Ninja ZX-6R. Dealers will replace the regulator free of charge.
