A 44-year-old California firefighter rode his Yamaha Super Tenere motorcycle 2,428 miles from San Diego to Jacksonville, FL in 45 hours this week to help the non-profit group Friends of NICU buy a motor home to enable parents of premature babies stay close to them as hospitals. Phil Challinor spent 119 days living in a motor home at a neonatal intensive care unit with his wife, Jaime, until their daughter Amelia could come home. Jacksonville.com has the story here.

It’s always good to see when justice triumphs in cases where a rider is killed by negligent driver. A 24-year-old Nebraska woman was sentenced to six to 10 years in prison Friday after being found guilty of manslaughter for a crash last September that killed a 54-year-old rider.
