On this Easter, it’s a song that’s cheery and upbeat – “Little Honda” by The Hondells. It was written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love of The Beach Boys, who also released it as a single. However, The Hondells version had greater chart success in the United States. It got as a high as #9 on the Top 40 chart in 1964, while The Beach Boys version only reached #65. Jan & Dean also recorded the song. Back then, Honda proclaimed that “You meet the nicest people on a Honda,” and that advertising slogan altered the public’s perception of motorcycle riders. The person who pulled this video out of the dustbin certainly didn’t know how to spell The Hondells’ name:
