THOMPSON, CT – A press release hasn’t been issued yet, but vintage motorcycle owners will want to save this date: May 15, 2016.
That’s when Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park plans its first-ever Thompson Vintage Motorcycle Classic. Held on a Sunday, it will piggyback with the speedway’s vintage car event on May 13 and 14. (That’s why the car pics.)
Among the attractions will be an all-brands antique bike show, a swap meet, a midway for vendors and manufacturers, and a vintage track day. My source tells me, “The event is happening! We’re looking to make this a big New England event. Think Barber Vintage fest, up north.”
An official announcement on the Thompson Speedway show is expected soon. “We’re finalizing the logo and event flyer now,” my source said, who added that “details may change over the winter. Surely we’ll be tweaking this event, probably up to and including the day of the event, but we are a go for May 15, 2016.
