Victory Franchise Shifts to Hartford

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

It reportedly wasn’t supposed to happen until the start of 2011, but New England Cycle Center in Hartford has become a Victory dealer more than three months early after Canton Cycles in Winsted abruptly relinquished the cruiser and touring brand last week. Victory signage has been removed from the exterior off the building at Canton Cycles and all Victory models are gone from the showroom, having been moved out on Friday. Several familiar faces have also disappeared from Canton Cycles in recent weeks. Like the entire powersports industry, Canton Cycles has been hurt by the bad economy over the past two years. A full report on the future of Canton Cycles will appear in RIDE-CT in “The Republican-American” on Saturday.

  1. I’ll miss those guys. Got my first BMW from them in ’83 (R80G/s) and kept going back to them for more. They even ordered me a ’91 R100GS-PD fom my bed in Waterbury Hospital once. Best wishes to Ralph and the rest of the crew. They’ve always treated me right.
