It’s a rarity to see a motorcycle on the track at Lime Rock Park in Salisbury. In fact, except for a corporate BMW Motorrad outing, bikes have been absent from the track for a half-dozen years. In the 50 years before that, motorcycles only got to make the circuit on track days or during practice sessions.
Today, though, some two-dozen members of the Yankee Beemers motorcycle club got to take their own street bikes on an escorted excursion around the one and one-half mile Lime Rock track as part of weekend visit that included a two-night infield campout.
The visit was arranged by SurvivetheDrive, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching teens about the hazards of inattentive driving.
