They’re neighbors in Milwaukee, so it’s only natural that Miller High Life beer (owned by MillerCoors) and Harley-Davidson have teamed up over the years on promotions, most notably on commemorative cans that feature the Harley-Davidson logo.
Miller’s launching a new TV advertising campaign titled “I Am Rich” that will include with some new limited-edition packaging displaying the bar and shield. It’s designed to “help legal age beer drinkers to discover their own ‘Pursuit of the High Life.'”
The new cans will hit store shelves on May 1. The cans feature the works of artists/designers Roland Sands, Jon Contino, Derrick Strawcastle, Brandon Rike and Hydro74, whose artwork will also be used in other packaging.
Customers will have the chance to win a custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and MillerCoors is donating a customized Harley-Davidson to the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America for auction, with the proceeds benefiting IAVA.
No doubt beer can collectors and Harley-Davidson owners will scoop them up. A reminder, though, to not drink and ride. A 2009 report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety revealed that 42 percent of motorcycle fatalities had blood alcohol concentration levels of .08 percent or higher.
