NEW MILFORD, CT – A week and a half after revealing that a move from its Brookfield, CT store was in the works, Max BMW has announced where its relocated store will be located.
The spot is 493 Danbury Road (Route 7) in New Milford, less than five miles north of its current location. The building is currently occupied by at least two other businesses, Litchfield County Pickers and Marble & Granite Creations.
The move-in at the new location will be gradual. The goal is to have parts and service operational by month’s end. However, the showroom won’t open until March.
“There are some tenants in the new building that needed to stay until the end of February,” Max BMW owner Max Stratton explained in an email today. He reported that a sales rep will be on site in February, but that the Brookfield store’s inventory has been shuttled to his store in South Windsor, CT.
Max BMW has been at its current Brookfield location for 10 years; ever since Stratton bought what was previously Cliff’s Cycle Revolution, a BMW/Ducati/Indian dealer. That store’s owner, Cliff LaMotta, retained ownership of the property and building, which Stratton then leased.
In his email, Stratton expressed enthusiasm for the new location. “Not an easy transition but it will be worth it in the end,” he wrote. “We outgrew our current building and we have doubled the size of our service facility to better take care of customers.
Visitors to the new location will likely see a work in progress for a while. “Once everybody has moved out, I’ll get to work on refinishing the building so we have a great place for everyone to visit in the spring,” Stratton wrote.
