MILAN, ITALY – It was inevitable that Royal Enfield would find more ways to use the mid-sized motor found in its INT 650 and Continental GT models, and today the company from India revealed a Super Meteor cruiser entry at the EICMA show.
Two versions of the model are reportedly planned – the Super Meteor 650 and the Super Meteor 650 Tourer. They are powered by a 46-horsepower, 648cc parallel twin above which sits a 4.1-gallon teardrop gas tank. Both versions have a six-speed transmission.
With a 59-inch wheelbase and 29.13 seat height, the Super Meteor is low-slung. It has upside down forks and ABS. The front wheel is 19 inches and the rear wheel 16 inches. For a cruiser, the Super Meteor isn’t overly heavy, coming in at 531 pounds.
No prices yet on the Super Meteor and no word on when it will be released in the United States. The Tourer version will come with leatherette saddlebags, windshield and crash bars.
The Super Meteor will reportedly be sold in a variety of colors. The base model will come in black, blue, grey and two versions of green. The Tourer will be available in red and blue. More info may be found here.
