August Events – AMCA Meet, Brit Jam And More…

August is always a busy month when it comes to motorcycle meets, etc. and this year is no exception. Among some of the events worth attending are the Yankee Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America’s National Meet, which moves to a new location; the always crazy Middletown Motorcycle Mania; Brit Jam;, the Split’n Lanes & Dodgin’ Gutters show; and the opening after many years of hard work of the New England Motorcycle Museum.

Here are the dates and details:

Friday (3) and Saturday (4) – After a quarter-century of being staged in Hebron, the Yankee Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America moves its two-day National Meet to the other side of Connecticut. It will be held at the Terryville Fairgrounds in Terryville. The gates open at 8 a.m. each day. A great opportunity to see old bikes and to shop for parts.

15 – Downtown Middletown, CT becomes congested with the 13th annual Middletown Motorcycle Mania from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Rain date is Aug. 22. It’s a fun night if you enjoy a big crowd.

16 -The 4th annual Killingly Bike Night in Killingly, CT from 5 to 9 p.m. Rain date is Aug. 22.

19 – The British Iron Association of Connecticut hosts Brit Jam for the 33rd time at the Haddam Neck Fairgrounds in East Haddam, CT. Always entertaining.

19 – The 4th annual Splittin’ Lanes & Dodgin’ Gutters classic motorcycle show at the Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave. in Brooklyn, NY.

25 – Cafe Fever is the theme of the opening event of the New England Motorcycle Museum in Vernon, CT. The celebratory meet begins at 10 a.m. and lasts throughout the afternoon.
