Longtime motorcycle dealership general manager Bob Rosen, who currently consults dealers as a start-up expert and sales accelerator, is joining RIDE-CT.com as the contributor of a new column devoted to bridging the gap between customers and dealers. Rosen spent seven years as general manager of Cliff’s Cycle Revolution, the former BMW-Ducati-Indian dealer in Brookfield, CT, and now owns Practical Business Solutions.
Since beginning his riding history many years ago, Rosen (pictured at left) has traveled more than 200,000 road miles on a wide variety of motorcycles. His rides have taken him to destinations far and wide – the western U.S., multiple trips to Nova Scotia, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and as far away as South Africa. After an extended career in manufacturing and business management, Rosen has spent the last 15 years in motorcycle dealership operations management.
As founding general manager of Cliff’s Cycle Revolution, he worked with dealer principal Cliff La Motta to create a “destination dealership” that was highly regarded. He has also been general manager of one of the largest multi-line dealerships on the East Coast and, most recently, as a dealership consultant, he was instrumental in establishing a new Triumph/Ducati dealership.
In his column, Rosen will be taking a look at how motorcycle dealerships address the delicate balance of fulfilling customers’ wants and needs while trying to maintain a healthy business in a challenging marketplace. He will bring his perspective as a rider and motorcycle business professional to a lifestyle that is near and dear to many of us.
Rosen’s column will also on occasionally delve in sales trends and the health and direction of the motorcycle industry in general.
“With most motorcycle magazines relying on the shopworn formula of reviews, tech Q&As and outdated new model announcements, Bob’s column will provide fresh commentary to a tired landscape,” said RIDE-CT.com publisher/editor Bud Wilkinson. “The goal is to enable buyers and tire-kickers alike to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing dealers, which will make them smarter consumers.”
Rosen’s column will debut soon.
