LACONIA, NH – Laconia Motorcycle Week is just days away. It runs Saturday through June 17 with the usual vendor exhibits, demo rides, music and more. During two days of the event, the Mt. Washington Auto Road to the summit of Mt. Washington in Gorham, NH will be restricted to motorcycles-only: Monday (June 11) and Thursday (June 14).
The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Motorcyclists arriving before 10 a.m. won’t have to pay for passengers. Admission is $17 for operators and $9 for passengers. Passengers who are 5 to 12 years old pay $7.
The road will be open to both cars and motorcycles all other days, but hours will be limited to 1:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday (June 16) due to the Mt. Washington Road Race in the morning.
Among some other Laconia Motorcycle Week events are the Hillclimb Expo, the 2018 Gunstock Hillclimb and the 95th annual Loudon Classic motorcycle races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The Hillclimb Expo up Tower Street in Weirs Beach will be Tuesday (June 12) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s a throwback to hillclimbs that took place from 1916 through the late 1920s. The United States Classic Motorcycle Association is staging the event.
The next day, Wednesday (June 13), will be the 2018 Gunstock Hillclimb scaling the original 70-meter ski jump at Gunstock. Gates open at 8 a.m. with the opening ceremony at 9 a.m. The competition begins at 10 a.m. with amateurs competing in the morning and pros in the afternoon. Admission is $20 for adults. Children 10 and under get in for free.
The Loudon Classic will be June 15 (Friday) through June 17 (Sunday). Adult tickets are $15 per day. Youth tickets (12-17) are $10 and $5 on Sunday. Children 11 and under get in for free.
