With its 2014 FZ-09 a bit too big (847cc) and a bit too pricey ($7,990) to be considered an entry-level bike, Yamaha has come up with a small, less costly alternative for 2015. It’s the Yamaha FZ-07.
With an 689cc motor that puts of 75 horsepower, it can still be debated whether the FZ-07 is a proper bike for a beginner, but the $6,990 MSRP does make the bike a tad more affordable. At 397 pounds with a 3.7-gallon gas tank, the FZ-07 is light. Fuel economy is estimated at 58 mpg.
The FZ-07 will be available in graphite, red, and white when it hits showrooms next month.
