Vermont Gets Royal Enfield Dealer
Vermont has gotten a Royal Enfield dealer. Island Auto Haven, an auto repair shop in Grand Isle (near Burlington), has expanded into motorcycles and added the business name Royal Enfield of Vermont.
New bikes arrived recently. Royal Enfield of Vermont is the fifth Royal Enfield dealership in New England.
Harley-Davidson Debuts Softail Standard
Harley-Davidson debuted the Softail Standard model, with a suggested MSRP of $13,599 and four accessory packages with prices ranging from $1,049.95 to $1,699.95.
The mid-year Softail Standard bobber is offered only in black, features a chopped rear fender, a mini-apehanger handlebar, and is powered by a Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin engine.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT Fuels Piaggio growth
The year 2019 proved positive for Italy’s Piaggio, maker of Vespa scooters and Aprilia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles. Motorcycle sales worldwide were up 24.6 percent over 2018.
“Moto Guzzi was the outright bright star with volumes and revenues skyrocketing fueled by the V85 TT,” the company reported.
The scooter segment increased 8.1 percent.
Germany Takes On Motorcycle Noise
Finally, Germany is going after noisy motorcycles. Visordown reports that Germany is considering regulations “that range from excessive to unfathomable” to makes things quieter.
Under consideration is the outright banning of aftermarket exhaust pipes and the prohibition of motorcycles in certain areas over weekends and holidays.
