After months of teasing that included three concepts models, one of them dubbed Combustion from Zach Ness, Victory today unveiled a new 104-horsepower muscle-bike model called the Octane.
Powered by a 1,179cc, liquid-cooled V-Twin engine that produces 76-foot-pounds of torque, it will have a base price of $10,499. It comes with a six-speed transmission and belt drive.
The Octane is based on Victory’s Project 56 race model that climbed Pikes Peak last year. It has a low seat height of 25.9 inches and only weighs 528 pounds dry. It’s the lightest motorcycle that Victory has ever built. The 3.4-gallon tank filled won’t add much additional weight, but won’t give the Octane much range, either.
The wheel base is 62.1 inches. It has 10-spoke cast wheels – 18-inch in front and 17-inch in back – with a 160/70-17 76H rear tire.
Octane also has more horsepower than any other bike in Victory’s model range. “Geared for acceleration, Octane sprints down the quarter-miles in 12 seconds and rushes from 0-60 mph in under four seconds,” Victory says.
The Octane also has a bullet cowl up front and LED taillights in the rear. No word on when the model will be in showrooms. Here’s a link to Victory’s website.
